PRP: The New Frontier In Beauty Treatments

PRP, otherwise known as Platelet-Rich Plasma, is a revolutionary way of achieving a more youthful and healthy look. Gaining popularity in recent years, PRP has been used to help improve the skin tone and texture as well as hair volume and strength. This treatment utilizes a patient's own cells to naturally repair and rejuvenate tissue. Through a simple process of collecting platelet-rich plasma from the patient's own blood, it can be injected back into the face or scalp for maximum results.

Tufford Medical Aesthetics offers both these natural options for skin and hair rejuvenation that are safe, quick and effective with minimal side effects. Whether you're looking to subtly enhance your facial features or restore hair growth volume, this non-invasive treatment provides fast results that last for many months.

PRP for Skin Rejuvenation

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) is a natural treatment used to improve skin texture, elasticity, fine lines and wrinkles.

How It Works

This treatment works with your body’s own healing process by re-injecting platelets that contain growth factors into areas of the face, neck, eye area, hands and décolletage to enhance tissue rejuvenation. PRP injections can be combined with other treatments such as dermal fillers and microneedling for optimal results.

Results & Recovery

There may be some tenderness and bruising at the injection sites but we offer excellent home care products that will aid in the recovery and the use of cold compresses to treat swelling is recommended. For long-lasting effects yearly maintenance is advised. Book an appointment today to see how PRP could help you look your best!

PRP for Hair Restoration

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) is a common treatment used to improve skin texture, but can also work to restore hair loss.

How It Works

The process involves harvesting platelets from your own blood, which is then placed in a centrifuge to spin down and separate the red blood cells from the plasma. This plasma is then carefully re-injected directly into the scalp to reach the root of the hair follicles.

Results & Recovery

There will be minimal discomfort with a PRP hair treatment, and cool air or ice packs can minimize pain if needed. Results will vary depending on the individual and general tips for hair care may be provided by your Tufford Medical team to maximize your results. Overall, PRP Hair restoration is an option if you are looking for a safe and effective solution to address alopecia or spot baldness.

FAQs

  • How many treatments are needed for PRP?

Depending on your goals, PRP Facial Rejuvenation can be a one-time treatment, or you may benefit from a short series of three treatments spaced every 4 to 6 weeks. After that, maintenance treatments are recommended about once a year for ongoing results.

For PRP Hair Rejuvenation, our medical practitioner will be able to recommend the best course of action for you and your desired outcomes.

  • Is PRP safe?

Absolutely! Since we use your own blood in this procedure, there’s no risk of an allergic reaction or any other adverse side effects.

  • Who is not a good candidate for PRP?

Unfortunately people with platelet or clotting disorders are generally not eligible to receive this treatment. Additionally, those who are pregnant should avoid undergoing any elective procedures at this point in time. Active smokers may also wish to quit smoking prior to their treatment in order to optimize the improvement of skin quality.
